Here is something ancient. Two foxes strike back. This is one of the pre-launch Gilbert and the Grim Rabbit comics. At the time that the original strips (the ones that for the most part have never and probably never will see the light of day) were being done there was a lot of talk about the ban on hunting foxes with hounds. The original concept of the comic was a lot more political than the actual webcomic turned out to be. Any guesses which side of the argument I was on? Anyway, this was the original reason for the inclusion of foxes in Gilbert and the Grim Rabbit, which I don't even think was called that at the time that I drew this. I found this yesterday while going through an old box and decided to scan and colour it again. I resisted the temptation to do anything to improve the strip. This is close to what the original would have looked like, without the modified version of the current logo obviously. I haven't seen the original scans for a long time, which is a shame because most of the text was computer done and when I find an old strip I usually can't remember what the joke was.

This strip was one of the first I did when I decided to start the comic online and I was still playing around with fonts and page format. The version that made it into the main archive uses Grim instead in Thalia.

So who here recognises those words? This is the original version of comic one, which I lost along with all the others from the first attempt except Frankenfood which is comic 9 in the archive.

Here's the first of three comics from the very start of Gilbert and the Grim Rabbit. I sort of lost the caption for this one, but I beleive it was originally something to do with Prozac. I'm not too sure.
