That's right. It's Friday in this house and the comic is not late. Also, Amami Bunny (she's the pink one) appears courtesy of Caz of <a href="http://callouscomics.com">Callous Comics</a>. Amami's appearance is actually based on the appearance of Grim in Caz's guest comics for Gilbert and Grim, which I think is pretty neat. Also, Amami is a brilliant character, so I couldn't resist including her somewhere, even if it was a tiny little ameo like this one. :)

Yes! We are back! Take that rubbish printer/scanner and annoying real life interruptions! Also, two, that's right TWO, guest comics by me have been posted over at L33T. The first is a revisitation of a Gilbert and Grim page from way back in 2008 AND IT"S CANON! So go read it <a href="http://l33t.tuskland.info/l33t/2011/09/22/mike-and-kelsey-and-the-grim-rabbit-2/">here</a>. The second one, which is the very next page so I won't bother giving you the link for it, is a crossover with Commander Cottontail, which is my brick comic that I haven't actually launched yet, but that you can see a preview, teaser thing for over <a href="http://wendybunny.blogspot.com/2011/09/coming-soon-to-computer-near-you.html">at my blog</a>. Yay comics!

Firstly, my guest comic/art that I made for the Callous Comics 15th anniversary <a href="http://www.callouscomics.com/index/guest-cartoon-by-wendy-wood">is up</a>! Unfortunately that is the last new hand drawn thing I'm going to be posting in a while. Why? Because HP suck. Okay, I'll explain. A short while back we had some serious internet connection problems. They're fixed now, but there's a problem. Our HP printer/scanner will not print or scan except on wireless mode. It only allows you to install/update it over USB. This can be annoying, but it isn't usually a major problem, however it can't see the network now. If you try hooking up a computer directly to it to run an update the HP software claims the computer can't see the network either. Until we (by that I mean Jess) can find a way to get it to work or get some system working with another printer and scanner* then I can't work on the comic. Well, I can plot out and write scripts, but I can't print out the panel/lettering guides I use to draw the comic and even if I could I wouldn't be able to scan the results, so for now I'm on hiatus again. Yes, it sucks. I'm really sorry. Hopefully it won't be long until things are working again. (*We have older printers and scanners that work in theory, but they don't have drivers for anything we currently run.)

On Thursday our router died and most of Friday was spent, not working on the next page of the comic, but hunting down a suitable replacement. The end of Friday was taken up with me getting ill. I'm technically still a bit ill, but today is Jess's birthday and I'm not as bad as I was, so I've been out today with her sorting out her birthday present(s). However, as luck would have it today is a special day for two reason, not just that it's the birthday of Jess, but it's also the day on which Carlo Jose San Juan, or Caz for those of you who can't remember full names* sent out guest art/comics to people in celebration of <a href="http://www.callouscomics.com/blog/let-s-celebrate-15-years-of-callous-comics-">Callous Comics turning 15</a>! So, here you go, a special guest comic for you. :)

Anybody recognise that fox? He's been in the comic before. In addition to some of the last page's cameos repeated we have some new ones. :) Banjo Madness 1482 comes from <a href="http://themarsteam.ca/webcomics">theMARS Team Comics</a> and that page linked right there even contains the original version of one of the posters in this strip. As well as that there are a whole bunch of band names taken from <a href="http://www.thewebcomiclist.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6209">the CD cover game</a> on The Webcomic List forums.

Ages and ages ago, when I was planning this arc, I asked if any of my fellow webcomic creators hand bands they wouldn't mind lending me. <a href="http://vectorbelly.com/music.html">Bitmap Bombardier</a> come from<a href="http://vectorbelly.com/"> vectorbelly.com</a> and have actual music that I was actually listening to while making the comic. I also had a bit of a listen to the Bonzo Dog Doo-dah Band, who are the only non-comic related band there. Joe Cool and the <censored for sensitive minds> is also a real band, or was, and featured jaygee who creates <a href="http://www.smyzerandblyde.com/">Smyzer and Blyde</a> and helps run <a href="http://www.thewebcomiclist.com/forums">The Webcomic List forum</a> with me and <a href="http://oppernar.com">oppernaR</a>,aka 'naR, whose signature is in panel two there. Speaking of signatures, that funky Tom logo in the same panel is the signature of Tom from <a href="http://aiacrowd.com">Alone In A Crowd</a>. Also present in that panel is the <a href="http://sarahzero.com">Sarah Zero</a> logo. Velocity are from <a href="http://sites.google.com/site/winger3d/latest">Winger</a>, Megaweapon are from <a href="http://www.drunkduck.com/Apple_Valley/index.php?p=746579">Apple Valley</a>, which belongs to another TWCL forum lackey and The Fangs of Lepus come from the fantastic <a href="http://www.skulkingninja.com/">GothBunnies</a> whose creator of course did me some awesome guest art for the charity book. Finally the band name NADIR belongs to Tiffany Munro of <a href= "http://betweenplaces.spiderforest.com/">Between Places</a> and the My Chemical Toilet poster comes from <a href="http://stuffandnonsense.smackjeeves.com/comics/386445/mct/">this page</a> from Stuff and Nonsense by, um, someone I can't remember the name of right now...

So who is this mysterious 'J'? Well you'll just have to wait and see. :)

Technically this page, and more precisely the other characters' inability to see what Mimi has stolen from Gilbert sort of contradicts a page from the original archive from way back before the reboot. Okay, there's no 'technically' or 'sort of' about it. It does contradict one of the pages from the original archive entirely, but there you go. I'm allowed to change my mind occasionally, right?

First up: I apologise for the brief, unscheduled hiatus. I have no decent excuse. Second up: If you've been to the site over the last few days run a virus scan. Jess discovered an odd bit of code on the site. She's now removed it and is looking into ways to make sure it never comes back. I don't know if there's anything actually harmful there, but do me a favour and check anyway. I'd hate to think that it did do anything to your computers. Thirdly, and actually in relation to the comic: I did actually know someone at college who forgot her own birthday, both in the sense that if you asked her when her birthday was she had to do some sort of maths to work it out and in the sense that one year she didn't realise it was her birthday and instead wondered why her sister was being stranger than normal. In other news: I haven't made dinner yet and it's getting late. See you on Friday.
